Today Ubisoft released a new patch and with that access to the new DLC called Black Ice, adding two new operators, the new map Yacht, new weapon skins and a spectator camera on all platforms alongside numerous bug fixes and other enhancements to the game.
Black Ice adds the Canadian JTF-2 operators the Rainbow Six roster. These operators are trained for extreme conditions without the over-reliance on electronic assets. The defender Tina "Frost" Lin Tsang, makes use of non-lethal, floor mounted leg-hold traps called the "Welcome Mat" and allows for seamless deployment without extensive camouflage. Due to its design, it is undetectable by electronic scanners. Attacker Sebastien "Buck" Côté, uses the "Skeleton Key" which is an under-barrel mounted 12 gauge shotgun for swift breaching and targeting hostiles that can be accessed by changing hand positions on his assault rifle.
Buck and Frost are immediately available for 7 days exclusively to season pass holders. After these 7 days, the operators will be able to be unlocked by everyone for renown or r6 credits.
The new map called Yacht takes place on a luxury yacht that has crashed into an iceberg in the Baffin Bay. The Rainbow Six team has been sent to secure the stranded vessel as an unidentified submarine has docked near the yacht.
Further the DLC also adds new seasonal weapon skins, for example the JTF-2 skin, USA winter camo and Dwyer Hill. These weapon skins can be purchased either by Renown or R6 credits. Additionally the Black Ice weapon skin is exclusively for sale with R6 Credits for the duration of Season One and can be applied to all weapons in your arsenal.
Another new additions is the Spectator Camera on all platforms, and has been optimized for keyboard/mouse controls for PC. Players can create 5v5 multiplayer custom games with an 11th player acting as an observer in real time. Alongside the spectator camera there has also been integrated some visual feedback for the spectator camera to have a better understanding of what is taking place in the match.
